Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your details when you ask for Chenjio launch updates on chenjio.com. Chenjio is in development and not yet available in any country, so this list is the only thing we collect personal data for today.

The short version

We use your email address only to send you Chenjio launch updates. We don't sell it, share it for advertising or use it to build a profile of you. You can unsubscribe anytime with the link in every email, or by writing to .

Who is responsible

Chenjio is a product of NextGcrypto S.A., Panama. NextGcrypto S.A. decides how and why your details are used, which makes it the data controller for this site.

What we collect

When you join the list, we record:

  • your email address;
  • the country option you chose: Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya or "Somewhere else";
  • your consent record: the time you gave your consent and the version of the consent wording you saw;
  • a keyed hash of your browser's user-agent string, used only to prevent abuse of the form. A keyed hash is a one-way code: it lets us recognise the same value again without storing the value itself;
  • a keyed hash of your IP address, used only to limit repeated attempts from one connection. We do not store raw IP addresses;
  • the two-letter country code that Cloudflare works out from your connection, for example "NG". We use it only to spot abuse and to count sign-ups by country.

Nothing is sent to us when you type your email address in the first step. Your details reach us only when you press "Confirm and get updates".

We do not ask for your name, phone number, identity documents, wallet address or payment details on this site.

If you write to us, we use your message and your email address to reply.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your details for one purpose: to send you updates about Chenjio's launch, such as when it opens in your country. We use the country you chose to send you the updates that matter where you are. We do not send product offers to this list.

Our legal basis is your consent. You give it by ticking the box next to this wording and pressing the button:

Yes, email me about Chenjio's launch. I'm 18 or older. I can unsubscribe anytime.

You can withdraw your consent anytime:

  • use the unsubscribe link in any email from us; or
  • write to from the address you joined with.

Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. Joining the list does not create an account or any right to a service.

Confirming your email

If we send you a confirmation email, your sign-up counts only once you open the link in it and press "Confirm my email". The link stays valid for 7 days. If you don't confirm, we send you no updates, and we delete the unconfirmed sign-up after 30 days.

If email sending is not switched on yet when you join, we record your email address and your consent without sending anything. We may then ask you to confirm your address before the first update.

Who else handles your data

We use two kinds of providers. They handle your details on our behalf, only for the tasks below.

  • Cloudflare hosts this site and the database that holds the list. It runs the bot check on the form (Cloudflare Turnstile) and our visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics). To deliver the site and keep it safe from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address.
  • Our email delivery provider will send the emails. It receives your email address and the content of the emails we send you. We will name the provider here before the first email is sent.

We may also have to disclose data if a law or a court order requires it. We share your details with nobody else.

Where your data is stored

Your details are stored with our providers on servers outside your country. Cloudflare is based in the United States and runs a worldwide network, so your data may be processed in the European Union, the United States and other countries where our providers operate. The data-protection laws there may differ from the law in your country.

How long we keep it

  • We keep your sign-up until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you straight away and delete your email address from the list within 30 days.
  • If we sent you a confirmation email and you did not confirm, we delete the sign-up after 30 days.
  • We delete the whole list 12 months after Chenjio's launch. If the project is cancelled, we delete the list no later than 12 months after that. If we want to stay in touch after launch, we will ask you again.
  • The hashes of IP addresses used to limit repeated attempts are kept only for as long as that takes, then deleted.
  • Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of your request.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct your details, for example your country;
  • delete your details;
  • stop using your details, by withdrawing your consent or by objecting.

To use any of these rights, write to . We charge nothing for this. We may ask you to write from the address you joined with, so that we don't give your data to someone else. We will answer as soon as we can, and within the time the law that applies to you allows.

Your right to complain

We would like the chance to put things right first, so please write to us. You also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority in your country:

If you live somewhere else, you may be able to complain to the data-protection authority where you live.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your details.
  • We don't share them for advertising.
  • We don't build a profile of you.
  • We don't make automated decisions about you that have a legal or similarly serious effect. The bot check on the form is automated, but it only decides whether the form can be sent.

Age

Chenjio and this list are for adults. Do not join if you are under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has joined, we delete their details.

Cookies and analytics

  • This site sets no cookies of its own, and it keeps nothing about you in your browser's storage.
  • The bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) protects the form. It looks at technical signals from your browser and your connection to tell people from automated traffic. It may keep in your browser only what is strictly necessary for that check. It is not used for advertising.
  • We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
  • We use no advertising pixels, no social media plug-ins and no fonts loaded from other companies' servers.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your details, we will update this page and change the date below. If a change goes beyond what you agreed to, we will ask for your consent again before it applies to you.
